Room Quality The regular rooms are a bit old, but plenty comfortable. Beds are fine, carpet is a little tacky but not too worn out. Bathrooms have a single sink and tub/shower combo. They look cheap, but they are clean. Mini-suites offer a jacuzzi, a separate sitting room and are much bigger than regular rooms. All tower rooms have a refrigerator. Ask for the East Tower as these rooms are reportedly nicer than the others at the Lady Luck, unless you don't like walking because they are farther from the casino. The East Tower is the taller one. If it is your first time staying at the Lady Luck, tell them so at check-in and they might upgrade you to a mini-suite to win your loyalty.

Service Quality: Fair. The casino staff is nice enough, and they have a good fun book, with coupons for things like a free two-minute long-distance phone call, so you can ring up your mom and tell her you're doing fine. The hotel is downscale, so they aren't prepared to serve your every whim. Check-in is quick, elevators are quick, and room service is actually not too outrageously priced.
What You Get Bottles of in the Bathroom: Soap, shampoo and lotion. Of course, not enough to mask the overpowering cigarette odor you'll pick up in their cramped casino.
Clientele: Average folks seeking a lower-budget experience. There are few young people, and almost no children. It's for people who like to gamble.
How's the pool? Small, but at least they have one. Most places downtwn don't have pools, so keep that in mind when considering your hotel.
Free Shuttle: No shuttles. The closest free one is down at the California. (For complete free shuttle info and schedules buy our guide--it's only $4)

Table Games: Caribbean Stud Poker, Let it Ride, Mini Baccarat, Craps, Blackjack and Roulette. There are not a lot of tables in here, so you won't always find your game at your level.
Machines: Over 800 slot and video poker machines including a gimmick called Double Jackpot Payoff, in which machines occasionally pay out double winnings. This place specializes in dollar machines, but you'll find everything from a nickel to $5. Video poker selection is poor, but we have seen full-pay jacks or better.
Bet Minimums: $3 dollars and up at the tables. Occasionally you will find some lower limits at their tables, but expect the empty seats to be at the $5 and up tables.
Cocktails? Good. It should be no problem getting a buzz as long as you're playing. Make sure to ask for one of their crazy "blushing lady" drinks. They are big and tacky.
Who Gets Comps? Lady Luck is easy on the eyes, and easy on the comps as well. She'll dish out grub to anybody playing a reasonable amount of time. A buffet is yours just for joining the slot club and running only a few dollars through the machines. If you bet at the $10 or higher level, ask and you shall receive... something.

Banquet Buffet: One of Las Vegas's worst. Take a short walk to a better buffet, such as the Main Street Station unless you have a comp for this one. Then, just stick to the basics.
Burgundy Room: Hoity-toity gourmet dining, but far from world-class. It's an elegant room with old-school service, however, the food is basic meat and potatoes.
Emperor's Room: Chinese food served in a room featuring ancient Chinese art hanging around. The Lady Luck is not a first-choice for food, and their Chinese is a little lacking.
Winner's Cafe: A 24-hour coffee shop, which will serve burgers and fries and what-not to anybody, not just winners, so don't let the name intimidate you. It's not as good at the Upper Deck at the nearby Las Vegas Club. Or the Carson Street Cafe at Golden Nugget. The $6 prime rib is the rare exception, and actually worth going out of your way for.

Hocus Pocus - it's Fielding West: Fielding West is nobody you will likely recognize, so don't feel stupid for not knowing who he is. But, he puts on a decent show in the Lady Luck tent Thursdays through Sunday nights. Tickets are about $20, but you should be able to find coupons in the freebie magazines that'll get you in for the price of one expensive cocktail (about $6).
