Best Burgers 2013

Some say if you've tasted one burger, you’ve tasted them all. Casino Boy begs to differ. When it comes to Las Vegas burger joints, Casino Boy doesn't have the time or money to waste eating thin white buns and mediocre patties. No, when Casino Boy wants his Las Vegas Burger fix, it better be a quality juicy Vegas burger that can satisfy his drunchies or cure his hangover. Luckily for Casino Boy and all the other Vegas burger lovers out there, burger joints in Las Vegas have become some of the trendiest restaurants in Sin City, and finding a delicious Las Vegas Burger is relatively easy if you know where to look. While Casino Boy still makes that occasional trek to In-N-Out when he’s feeling extra cheap or hungover and needs a shake, fries, and double double, he knows there are much better Las Vegas restaurants for the classic american burger. Although Casino Boy listed his picks for best Vegas burgers of 2012, he’s done a lot of eating since then, and research never tasted so good. In no specific order since each of these Vegas burgers are a favorite for different reasons, here are the CheapoVegas picks for best Las Vegas Burgers of 2013:

  • Fukuburger Truck: FukuBurger made the Casino Boy best Vegas burger list in 2012 for its Tamago Burger, and it tops the list in 2013. This Las Vegas burger truck is a Casino Boy favorite for a cheap burger in Las Vegas, and will probably stay that way unless the truck decides to drive away from Sin City. The Tamago Burger (“Egg” Burger) was featured in our 2012 article, and it’s still one of Casino Boy’s favorite Las Vegas burgers. With time, however, comes, palate development, and Casino Boy’s favorite from Fukuburger this year is between the Kinoko Burger and the Karao Spicy Burger. The Kinoko “Mushroom” Burger includes a fuku-patty with grilled Shitake mushrooms, pickled red ginger, teriyaki sauce and wasabi mayo, and the Karao “Spicy Burger” includes a fuku-patty with pickled cucumbers, avocado cream, and Habanero Kabayaki. Now obviously, this is a food truck, so don’t take a date here if you’re trying to impress. But, if you’re looking for one of the best burgers you’ll ever taste, and for cheap too, then Fukuburger is the spot. Since it’s a food truck, it’s location does change, so make sure you check their schedule!

  • Burger Bar: Home to some of the best specialty burgers in Las Vegas, Burger Bar by Chef Hubert Keller in the Mandalay Bay is a can’t miss stop for a tasty Burger in Las Vegas Set up with booths like a diner, Burger Bar puts a luxurious Vegas feel to a classic style diner. With a laid back but classy atmosphere the dark wood booths and personal flat screen TVs in each booth give mixes the feel of an American diner with classy Las Vegas luxury. Casino Boy considers Burger Bar as a Vegas burger heaven, since you get to chose from different patties and toppings to build your own burger exactly how you want it, and we know you like it big and juicy (we’re talking about burgers here, get your minds out of the gutter). Plus, they even have Las Vegas vegetarian and vegan food options, so all you health nuts out there can still join your not so healthy friends without feeling like a bore. This restaurant tops Casino Boy’s list, not just for its delicious burger, but also for tits selection of beers for washing down those burgers, and last but not least: the Nutella Milkshake for dessert.
  • Go Raw Cafe: While Casino Boy may like a big juicy classic burger, he knows some are a bit more health conscious or have some type of dietary restrictions that won’t let them eat meat. While typically Casino Boy would say those people are BORING to eat out with, after heading to Raw Cafe and Juice Bar, Casino Boy’s opinion has changed. For those who can’t eat meat or choose not too, but still want to enjoy a Las Vegas burger,Go Raw Cafe serves vegetarian and Vegan food in Las Vegas that can’t be beat. Casino Boy tried the “Gimme the Beeet Burger w/ House Salad,” and although skeptical at first because Casino Boy loves his meat, the veggie burger with carrots, beets, parsley, and sunflower seeds was surprisingly delicious. This healthy Las Vegas restaurant serves the burger with living bread, house made catsup, mustard, onion, tomato, mayo, sprouts, lettuce, avocado, and almond cheese for a satisfying vegan Vegas meal. If you’re as skeptical as Casino Boy was on Vegan food in Las Vegas, don’t knock it till you try Go Raw Cafe in Vegas. Plus, with Las Vegas pool season starting, you’ll definitely feel better in that bikini or swim trunks after the Beet Burger or other vegan dish from Go Raw Cafe rather than a greasy hamburger at some other Vegas burger joint.

  • BLT Burger at the Mirage Las Vegas: A little more upscale than a typical burger joint, BLT Burger in the Mirage is a Casino Boy favorite for its delectible burgers, open grill kitchen, semi circle bar. Casino Boy is usually all about cheap Las Vegas restaurants, so here’s a warning: this place isn’t for budget travelers. Those looking for a tasty burger and classy atmosphere (with a price to match), then this is the spot for you. The burgers are pretty expensive (most around $13), but Casino Boy thinks the taste is worth it. The favorite from BLT Burger last year was the Tex Mex: 7 ounces of grilled 100% Certified Angus beef with Jalapenos, chili, avocado, salsa, jack cheese and sour cream for a spicy kick that Casino Boy loves. While that’s still a Casino Boy go-to burger at BLT Burger, the Casino Boy pick for this year at BLT Burger in the Mirage is the Shaft’s Blue: 7 ounces of grilled 100% certified Angus beef burger with Shaft’s blue vein chees, balsamic caramelized onion, and mushrooms. Fries, unfortunately, don’t come with that pricey burger, but the waffle fries or vidalia onion rings are pretty freaking bomb, even if they are an extra $5.
