Border Grill Las Vegas
I personally am not on the border about this grill. It was crossed long ago, and I have no regrets!

The Skinny
The Border Grill Las Vegas isn't your usual "cheap" Mexican joint, which is both good and bad. It's Vegas after all, which means the cheap MExican is, after all, a little hard to come by. So, the upscale Border Grill Las Vegas isn't totally "out there" when it comes to Vegas dining, but it might not be what you're expecting if you stop in for a Taco Tuesday.

Quick Facts
- Border Grill Las Vegas is an upscale Mexican Restaurant. You've probably seen quite a few of these - it's a chain, but it's one of the chains we want to stick around.
- By upscale, we mean in terms of Mexican restaurants. You don't have to dress up super fancy to come to Border Grill Vegas, but don't expect the cheap or quick Mexican meal you'd get inb the southwest.
- Border Grill Mandalay Bay Las Vegas has two floors of patio dining which allow you to sip margaritas in the sun while you gaze out onto the Mandalay beach.

The Environment:
Border Grill Las Vegas is more upscale than many Mexican restaurants, but you can still come here in your casual wear and pound margaritas. You'll probably be one of the only ones doing this, but who cares? Well, you will when you realize that the reason everyone else isn't doing it is because most of them can't afford to.
Why We Dine:
Border Grill Mexican food at Mandalay Bay Vegas is fancier than the Mexican food you'd get at your local spot. But then again, Mandalay Bay is probably fancier than the house you live in too, so that works.
- Skirt Steak: It comes in right under $30 for the meal alone, drinks are extra of course, but this seems to be the overall favorite at Border Grill Las Vegas. The marinated and grilled steak is served with tortillas, corn and black beans and nobody leaves unhappy after shoveling it all down. This is upscale Mexican after all. They're not going to slop some street tacos into aluminum foil and ask how much hot sauce they can get you. Sorry...
- Coconut French Toast: French toast at a Mexican restaurant? Border Grill Vegas can somehow get away with it. Served during their Brunch, this is the go-to menu item. Sourdough bread, coconut syrup and sautéed bananas make it not too sweet, but oh so good.
- Green Corn Tamales: As far as an appetizer you can't go wrong with, these tamales are good enough to make your meal! Border Grill Mandalay Bay Las Vegas charges about $10 for these, so if you do in fact end up making them your meal, it's probably the cheapest one you'll get here.
Inside Knowledge:
Food at Border Grill Vegas is prepared just for you by chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, the star of Food Network's “Too Hot Tamales.” There's the credibility if you were looking for it!
We Recommend:
- Border Brunch: You can get all you can eat small plates for $30, add bottomless mimosas for $5. Border Grill Las Vegas is way better than going to your average buffet brunch. They have some American dishes, like French toast and biscuits and gravy, but they also have tacos and chilaquiles and all that good ol' Mexican stuff.
- Drinking Heavily: When would Casino Boy not recommend this? Of course Border Grill Vegas has great margaritas - viva Mexico! They also have other great mixed drinks like mojitos and lemonades that are refreshing, especially if you're sitting outside, which we also recommend!
