Book NowEven though the Rio Las Vegas is about as Brazilian as a senior center's Mardi Gras party, it's nice here. Large rooms, a great pool, and loads of restaurants. It's not one of the hotels on the Strip, but it's close and the shuttle there is free!

Our user reviews are from real registered users.
The rooms at Rio Hotel Las Vegas are big at 600+ square feet. Most of the room is in a huge bedroom area. There are a king or two queen beds, a sofa and a table with two chairs. Each room has an iron, ironing board, hair-dryer, safe, refrigerator, separate dressing area with two sinks, and large bathroom. The views can be spectacular because the windows are wall to wall, floor to ceiling.
Fair. The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino Las Vegas is humongous! They have their priorities, and their guests are on the top.
Shampoo/conditioner and hand lotion. Hey, Rio Las Vegas! Where is our old favorite, the sewing kit? It disappeared. Las Vegas' cost-cutting measures are killing us and our pants.
Folks in their 30s to 50s stay at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. There are a lot of rich and wannabe rich Californians. All the men seem to be required to own Tommy Bahama shirts and smoke cigars. The women often wear slinky black dresses, and an extraordinary number have fake boobs. If you have fake boobs, you'll fit right in. Unless you're a guy.
Bring a buck because you can't get to a Rio Hotel Las Vegas pool without someone showing you to a chair and giving you a towel. If you're thinking about sneaking in, think again. The pool is closed in winter. There is also the Sapphire pool area which is swankier and allows for topless bathing.
The resort fee is $18 at Rio. Guests receive internet for one device, local calls and fitness center access for two people.
You name it and they have it: roulette, craps, blackjack, mini-baccarat, Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride, Pai Gow, and plenty of carnival games. They offer 3x4x5x odds on craps. It is a good place to gamble if you want a fancy atmosphere and attractive employees, and you don't mind losing a bit more.
All we ever see is $5 for Let it Ride, $10 for craps, and $10 for blackjack, at the lowest. Roulette is a $10 min. Pai Gow is the same. Don't forget that a lot of their tables pay 6:5 on blackjack.
Slots from a penny to $500. The fact is that the Rio is a great place to stay and eat, but the gaming is just ok. Heck, somebody has to pay for all of the fruit on Rio Rita's head. You're not likely to find a full-pay VP machine, but from time to time there are some on the casino floor.
The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino Las Vegas cocktail service is pretty standard for Vegas.
At the tables they will treat you coolly if you even asked to be rated at below $25 a hand. If you play $50 for four hours you will get a meal and a room discount. $150 or more for four hours and they will consider giving you a free room. Although, a consistent slot or table player may see some mailers for free rooms at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino Las Vegas.

32, but some show keno, which is probably as much of a sporting event as televised poker. Two big screens, which switch between racing and sports, depending on the importance of the day's events.
About 60 race desks, 40 of which have little TVs, seven booths in the back of the room and about 20 little tables in the Sports Deli.
About 13. The sports signboards are electronic, but the race board is on the screen. And the minimum bets: $5 sports, $2 for racing, sometimes.
Sometimes. Occasionally a cocktail waitress will even ask you if you'd like a drink if you're there to take notes for a web site. If you're betting, ask for a drink ticket when you place your bet, though, and see what they say.
Sports Deli next door serves up grub right next door. Mah Jong is also close by for noodles.
When Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino Las Vegas casino added its poker room to keep up with the hold-em craze, they hacked off a chunk of this room. Why couldn't they take out some slots?
Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino Las Vegas has ten tables packed into a section of what used to be the sports book. Most times about half to eight tables are running.
They say World Series of Poker on them. Whoop-de-doo.
This room is wide open and pretty noisy. A three-foot high wall partially "separates" it from the sports book but not the casino. One table in the way back has yet another three foot wall around it.
Hold 'Em, Hold 'Em and more Hold 'Em. They deal what you see on TV because the clientele is mostly rookies who want to win big like they've seen on the boob tube. Games are 4-8 and up with a $1-$2 and $2-$5 no-limit game usually going as well.
There are free poker lessons but you need to make a reservation.
Crowded. Expect an hour or more wait on busy weekends.
A buck an hour up to eight bucks a day. How generous...
If you play tight-aggressive, you can make a fortune here because this place is crawling with loose jokers who know far less about poker than they think.
They host the World Series of Poker here.
Featuring Las Vegas views from floor-to-ceiling windows, these suites range from 600 to 630 square feet, and each comes with one king bed, or two queens for a little bit more. Kick back with something from the minibar in the sitting area, or relax in bed watching movies or playing games on the 32-inch TV. The marble bathroom has a shower/tub combination, as well as a vanity in a separate dressing area.
With panoramic views of The Strip from floor-to-ceiling windows, this 600- to 630-square-foot suite comes with one king bed. You get a minibar, Internet access for a charge, and a 32-inch TV. But if you ever decide to leave the room, lock your valuables in the safe and head out to explore. Make a note of which room is yours so when you're walking down the Strip you can keep an eye on all your stuff that wouldn't fit in the safe.
Las Vegas views from floor-to-ceiling windows and 600- to 630-square-feet of room with one king or two queen beds. Pretty much the same as the rest of the rooms, the minibar, large sitting area, a safe, TV, and bathroom with a separate dressing area. With this room, smoking is permitted, and bonus, you can bring your pet! Don't let your furry friends miss out on all Vegas has to offer!
Featuring those great Las Vegas views from floor-to-ceiling windows, there's one king bed in a 1,600-square-foot suite! Do the math, that's plenty of room for dancing around, entertaining, whatever you want to do with it! Mix a drink at the wet bar or mini bar and get the party started. You get a special upgraded sound system and 32-inch TV. The main bathroom has a jetted tub and walk-in shower, as well as a vanity in a separate dressing area as well as a second half bath. You're sure to come up with plenty of ways to use up all this space!

We arrived at 11 pm and found ourselves waiting in line for approximately 45 mins. Once at the counter, the girl serving us proceeded to make us feel like idiots for having believed the Rio hotel rep. we had spoken to, Westjet, and our booking agent about what we were going to get in terms of our rooms. My friend and I were not staying in one room; but both of us got the exact same deal which meant we DID NOT have a view of the strip, a soaking tub, or a king sized bed! What we got was a view of the mountains, two queen sized beds, a regular bathtub with filthy tiles and lots of lots of attitude when we both said that we hadn't signed up for this! However, since we were both exhausted and hungry, we took our keys and made way to our rooms. The Rio provides a Tassimo coffeemaker and two paper cups but nothing else. I thought this was an oversight of the hotel and so I called the front desk asking where the pods were; had they simply forgotten to place them in my room? The response I got was that the hotel can provide the pods but at $8.00 for a box of three. I have to stayed at Travelodges where complimentary coffee was found in the room. Anyway, like I said, we were hungry so we made our way back downstairs in order to find a place to eat. After walking the 1.5 mile trek back to the elevators, we came across the Grill situated in the centre of the Casino just off of the Ipanema towers. We were greeted, our drink orders were taken, and the wrong ones were delivered. The restaurant was not busy but not only were we given the wrong drinks, but we were also ignored for the next 20 mins.; so we left. Since it was way passed midnight, closer to passed midnight at this point and we were both becoming listlessly from starvation, we pounced on the Burger King we found a half mile into the casino and ate a typical fast food meal for less than $10. The room itself was not worth the money we paid mainly because despite the claim that it spans over 600 sq feet, it sure didn't seem that big... the walls were as thin as rice paper...you can hear the next room's toilet at all hours of the day... Overall, I would not recommend it at all. Sorry Rio.

OK I see all these scathing reviews so here's my 2 cents;
Stayed here in July/2010 Thurs-Sun.
Check in was easy we arrived at airport at 1045, picked up our rental car in 5 min, drove to RIO in 5 min, and checked in in 2 minutes.
The main desk staff was great, the gentleman checked his computer and told us that they were still cleaning our room and then realized he had an open room and immediately gave us that room. Mind you, our room was comped, but I have never had a really bad room except at Caesar's, where I'll never stay at again. Room was a little dated but clean. Housekeeping kept the room clean everyday without bothering my wife and I the entire trip.
Restaurants were a bit pricey but food was good. Get the Buffet of all Buffets if you plan on eating at the buffets its worth the price. You can eat at just about any Harrah's buffet for a 24 hour period unlimited. RIO's brunch is very good.
The pools were great, we go out when they open and try to leave by 11 before it gets too crazy with young drunk kids.
Now the best part the staff was great. I play craps and like to chat with the dealers. The crap's dealers were a great!! They were the best customer service I have ever had. They were experienced (always a plus), friendly, and always remembered a bet if I forgot. They gave my wife and I suggestions on other things besides gambling. Told us about hiking up Mt Charleston, shopping, etc. BEST DEALERS EVER!!
It was a winning trip so that made it even better.
All in all I would stay here again.

Just got back from our annual spring break trip to Vegas and this year we mixed it up a bit and stayed at The Rio. We were all a little low on funds and the room rates here were lower than any other hotel that we were considering. Can you say NON STOP PARTY for 5 straight days/nights??!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Luckily, nobody got into any serious trouble and we all made it back alive! Spring Break in Vegas ROCKS! Loved the hotel and the vibe that was going on while we were there. The Rio isn't exactly on the strip however we certainly did a good job of getting ourselves around without any complaints. Stoked on the poolside action, and stoked on the casino. Loved the Vodoo Lounge upstairs with it's unreal view and the beautiful guys that we met there! We have already planned another return trip to The Rio as soon as school gets out! VIVA LAS VEGAS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!TJ14 would recommend to a friend

Rio is a great Las Vegas hotel. The price is right. The rooms are very spacious. The colors and decor are very relaxing and pleasant. The service is very efficient. There is a lot of actions and activities taking place at all time. The nightclub on the roof has an awesome view and is a very cool place. It was a very sweet stay. I recommend the Rio.Sort Reviews By: | | |

I've seen a lot of horror stories about the Rio and wanted to provide an update that wasn't several years old.
Now, I'm pretty easy to satisfy. If the place isn't obviously filthy, then it's fine by me. However, I literally did not see anything about my room that seemed dirty or nonfunctional. The carpet was a little worn in the buffet, but I'm not rating the buffet; my room was fine. I'm a non-smoker and rather militant about it; my wife is a non-smoker with breathing issues so REALLY militant about it, and our non-smoking room did not smell of smoke in the slightest, one of the things we were a little worried about from some of the other reviews (the casino, on the other hand, was a different story, but that's going to be true of anywhere in Vegas).
We waited maybe five minutes, and that's an overestimate if anything, to check in (at around 4:30). The only issue we had was that we had requested a King bed and they didn't have any available (we had initially said we'd be checking in at around 7 PM, so that might have something to do with it). We instead got a room with two Queen beds on the 15th floor of the Ipanema tower, which was fine with us. The view directly below us wasn't anything to speak of (it was basically the loading dock and cooling plant for the casino), but further out we could see the Encore, the Stratosphere, and downtown (along with a lot of residential northwest Las Vegas, which was more sedate but still had some pretty lights in the early evening), and the mountains off in the distance, so no complaints there.
Bathroom: tub in a shower enclosure, with a shower head mounted on the wall ... if you've got something fancier than that at home you're richer than me and probably aren't considering the Rio anyway. There wasn't a separate shower and soaking tub, but everything worked fine with no mildew or other issues that some other reviews I've seen complained about. The toilet is in the same room as the tub... again, if that's something you're not used to already, you're probably not looking at the Rio.
Oh, and price. Yeah. Can't complain about that. Rooms were $22/night (the advertised rate was higher, but I signed up for the Caesar's Total Rewards program online just before booking the rooms in case there was a deal and was immediately offered a 30% discount), and taxes and the resort fee brought that up to $40 or so. I knew about the resort fee going in so that wasn't a surprise even though it's kinda sneaky.
The Rio is off the strip. You need to know this. It's not FAR off the strip and there's a free shuttle that will take you to either Bally's or Harrah's (both of which are on the strip, though the shuttle stop, especially at Harrah's, is back a block or so from the strip itself) and back, but if you're expecting to walk out the front door and be on the strip, just know that's not going to happen. Also, the shuttles, despite running every half hour, can get full ... I was literally the last person allowed on the return shuttle from Harrah's. I presume they run more than one shuttle at once during the summer, because otherwise, you might have to wait a long time to get on. For the price difference, though, you could take a cab if you had to, and the rooms at the Rio are huge. I think calling them "suites" is a little disingenuous (there isn't a separate sitting/sleeping area, for example), but I certainly can't complain about not having enough space to stretch out. While I'm neither recommending nor condoning this, you could easily sneak in a half dozen people and they wouldn't have to sleep on top of each other unless they wanted to.
Cocktail service in the casino was a little slow getting started, but once they did come they kept coming back; the only time I didn't have a drink in my hand after they brought the first one was when I started feeling a little buzzed and waved the server off for a round. The Rio does this a little differently than at most places; someone (usually a guy) walks around with an iPad taking orders which are directly transmitted to the bar, and then a few minutes later the server comes by with your drink.
